What Are Google My Business Posts?
If you’ve ever done a Google search for a business, you’ve no doubt seen a business appear on the right side of the page with their core business information attached: address, hours of operation, phone number, etc.
These are Google My Business (GMB) listings and they are one of the most powerful ways to improve your business’ visibility online.
Taking these listings one step further, Google recently released an update giving businesses the ability to create posts on GMB listings. Think of them as short Facebook posts with a call to action right on the search engine results page.
You can show your practice information, display reviews, and have people book an appointment or request more information– all without them ever visiting your website!
Google gives you the ability to create posts about the following topics:
- What’s new
- Events
- Offers
- Products
You can also include the following call to actions for these posts:
- Book
- Order online
- Buy
- Learn More
- Get Offer
- Call Now
Let’s work through a use case. Say you are running a special in the office for $500 off Invisalign® treatments. This new feature allows you to create a product post with a Call Now call to action.
This gives viewers information about your promotion as well as the option to immediately call your office straight from their browser. You can even share your GMB posts to your other social media networks!
We encourage you to think about what you can offer your customers using GMB posts. Is there something new in your office or something that you can offer that your competitors aren’t offering? If so, a Google My Business post might be just the way to get that out to your market.
