The fight against fake “Likes” on Facebook!

We wanted to let you know about an update Facebook will be making on Pages like yours. With a growing trend in spam, malware, and compromised accounts finding their ways to business pages across Facebook, the social network has been keeping a close eye on suspicious profiles that “Likes” your page. So, in order to protect its users and to keep its platform as authentic and honest as possible, Facebook is now taking steps to crack down and remove fake and suspicious likes. This effort is designed to improve the integrity of Facebook and foster a much more honest experience for users.

Is your practice at risk of losing a large amount of “Likes”? While losing “Likes” may be viewed as damaging to your Page, this automated update should inspire more confidence in your Facebook page! Facebook notes that, “On average, less than 1% of Likes on any given Page will be removed, providing they and their affiliates have been abiding by our terms.”
