    Sesame Spotlight: Craig Hocking

    If you are a member with Sesame, there is a chance that you have had the honor and privilege of working with Craig Hocking. Craig has been a standout Sesa’meep for over four years and is currently an Account Manager!

    Recently, Craig took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to do a Q+A session!

    Before working at Sesame, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

    CH: In college, I worked summers for the City of Kirkland setting up and taking care of the baseball fields in our parks.  It was very interesting seeing all of the work that goes into keeping a ball field maintained, and I even got to work on the grounds crew for the Little League Softball World Series which were hosted right here in Kirkland, WA!

    What is your proudest moment at Sesame?

    CH: One of my proudest moments was when I was promoted from a Sesame Social Media Specialist into my role of Account Manager!

    What are 3 words to describe Sesame?

    CH: Innovative, Culture and FUN!

    What is your favorite part about working for Sesame?

    CH: One of my favorite things about Sesame is the team I work on.  When I transitioned into my role as Account Manager in 2017 they were extremely helpful and supportive. My transition would not have been as smooth and seamless without them!

    You are known around the office by plenty of different nicknames. Do you have a particular favorite?

    CH: I have too many to count but I think my favorite is Big Hoot. It is my most unique nickname!

    Account Manager can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, what would people never guess you do in your role?

    CH: We work hand in hand with our members and I get a lot of feedback, I have the opportunity to work with our product team to help come up with new features for our Sesame services.

    One thing that makes Sesame great is the company’s focus on a work-life balance. That said, what is your favorite thing to do outside of work? 

    CH: Outside of work my favorite thing to do is spend time with my 6 month old daughter who is the joy of my life. She is my first child and I am one proud poppa!

    Tell us one surprising fact about yourself.

    CH: My wife and I really enjoy refurbishing old salvaged furniture. One of our most recent projects transforming an old wardrobe for our nursery.
