The Keys to Social Media Branding
Picture the inside of your practice. The paint color on the walls carefully chosen, the upholstery on the chairs hand-selected, and the logo on the wall crafted specifically to reflect your practice branding. You’ve taken the time to choose each detail in the office to give off the right feel as soon as patients walk through your door.
Now, can you say the same about your online presence? Does it represent your office correctly and effectively? Whether the answer is yes or no, we’ll walk you through the main elements in social media branding in order to best showcase what your practice brings to the table. Let’s dive in with the basics:
Pick a Theme
Your theme includes your logo, color scheme, font, and overall “vibe” of your online brand. Choose a color scheme that clearly defines your brand identity and implement this throughout all of your social channels. It’s a good idea to think about who your target audience is and how your theme can reflect what they’re looking for in your service. Are you a dentist who offers a very calming office environment? Then bright and busy colors might not be the best option for your online style.
Stay Consistent on Social
As soon as patients check out your Facebook, Instagram, website, etc, they should be able to instantly recognize your brand. If your Facebook branding is entirely different from your website, patients might get a little confused about whether or not they’re looking at a page for the same practice. It’s ok to change your profile images and styling every now and again, but if you decide to change it on one, we recommend you change them all.
With that being said, your @handle and business name should always be the same, or at least very similar to each other. You’ll want to make it easy for patients to find you so make sure they’re consistent all across the board.
Choose Your Voice
Next, think about the style of content you want to produce and the voice you’d like to reflect on your social channels. You can still remain professional while establishing a unique voice that patients will recognize in your content! A few great ways to do this are with a tagline, hashtag, or style of content you continue to post. Just remember to make it apparent on all your social channels so patients can associate it with your brand!
What Are the Benefits?
At this point, you might be wondering if all this stuff is really that important. To sum up, in a few words, good social media branding helps differentiate you from your competitors and solidifies your presence in an ever-growing marketplace. Every post, every platform, and every aspect of your online presence is a contribution to the brand you’ve created, so consistency is key!
It might seem daunting at first, but always remember that social media is about being creative! Have fun with crafting a style, tone, and image that is wholly unique to you and your practice. With the right amount of creativity and consistency, you’ll be well on your way to creating a strong and successful brand on social media!
