2011 AACD Highlights

On Saturday May 21st, Sesame Communication’s Director of Business Development, Rachel Mele presented a hands-on workshop at the 27th annual Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Scientific Session.

The three hour course titled “Get Found: SEO, Social Media, and Online Marketing” was “one of the best courses all week,” according to Dr. Manisha Javia of Scottsdale, AZ. Attending doctors learned how to create and upload a YouTube video and share it on Facebook. Other objectives included setting up a Facebook business page, keeping Facebook fresh and interesting as well as engaging more patients and prospective patients to “Like” your Facebook page. The nine page lecture handout included written how-to instructions to check the search rankings of the practice website, get verified on Google Places and tips to make the practice web site patient appealing resulting in prospective patients picking up the phone to call the office and schedule an appointment.

Rachel’s presentation objectives go hand in hand with the Sesame Search 2.0 service which focuses on making it easier for practices to stay connected with their patients. Dental and orthodontic practices who use the Search 2.0 service will work with specialists to manage Facebook, Youtube and a blog and work toward engaging their current and prospective patients online.

Rachel has been an integral part of Sesame’s success since 2005. Prior to joining Sesame, Rachel consulted for orthodontic and dental practices across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Rachel is also a member of Sesame’s Speakers Bureau, and is an accomplished Toastmaster who speaks regularly on Internet technologies including search optimization, social media and effective web marketing.
